Working on the principle that constant and increased pressure against the abdominal area assists your swollen uterus to shrink back to pre-pregnancy size, as well as keeping any wobbly bits firmly in place, the Belly & Hip Compression Wrap aids in getting your post-baby body back into shape quickly and naturally. It will lend great support to your tender post-pregnancy belly muscles as they tighten and regain strength.
Not to be used during pregnancy. The Belly & Hip Compression Wrap works best when worn day and night for the first 8+ weeks post-birth, though will still provide support for back, weak abdomen and posture at any stage even up to 1yr later. The fabric is firm yet soft, with no rigid boning. Velcro straps allows you to adjust to the perfect tightness.
How often should you wear it?
It is usually recommended you wear your Belly & Hip Wraps up to 6 hours a day, you can wear it whilst sleeping if this is more comfortable. Wear for 8 weeks for maximum benefit, up to 1yr post-partum if it feels good.
This 3 piece is the most powerful, useful post-partum wraps we could source. The first piece fits over your hips and helps stabilise the hip joint after birth. This can bring great relief and mobility to many mothers who feel wobbly after the birth. There has also been some studies done on a similar product that has shown a reduction of hip size if worn for around 8hrs per night for the first 3 months after birth. So if you want to have smaller hips after baby, wrap on tight!!
The second piece goes just under your bra line. A lot of women find that their ribs are splayed after delivery, especially if they have developed a diastasis recti (seperation of stomach muscles). This piece will help your ribs return to their original pre-baby position.
The last piece fits over the others and around the waist. It has adjustable tabs so you can further tighten the waist area.
We prefer this 3pc precisely because it will cover the entire abdominal area and provide support all over. A lot of the one piece belly wraps will only cover about 1/3 of your postpartum belly and this fits uncomfortably. You will feel so much more supported and find it easier to move around. Your back will hurt less from all the time spent sitting and breastfeeding your newborn. There will be none of the jelly wobbly jiggling loose belly feeling that happens after birth, which means your insides will feel nice and secure.
Follow this guide to help decide on sizing, especially if you are purchasing during pregnancy in preparation to pop this in your hospital bag. Usually if you were up to size 10 prior to pregnancy the S/M should work fine. Over size 10 choose the M/L. For large weight gains you may choose the XL. If you need a different size we are happy to exchange.
